Homemade Organic Mushroom Pilaf

Here’s How I do it:

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the butter, schmaltz or tallow and warm until bubbly.
  3. Add the onions and mushrooms and saute for 6-7 minutes, until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are fragrant.
  4. Add the rice, stock, salt and pepper.
  5. Cover the skillet with a well fitting lid and bring to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, reduce the heat to allow the rice to simmer.
  7. Simmer the rice for 1 hour, not disturbing the lid.
  8. Fluff with a fork and enjoy!
